Key Stage 1 & 2 

Of all the lessons Key Stage 1 & 2 pupils should learn, there’s no doubt Road Safety is one of the most important. That’s why we at Alton Towers Resort with the Department of Transport would like to help you to teach the Green Cross Code.

This summer, as part of Road Safety Week at Alton Towers Resort – 16th to 20th June – we’re hosting a Road Wise education event at our fully equipped Primary Education Centre. Linked to the National Curriculum’s PHSE (KS1/3g and KS2/3e), the lesson will ensure your class covers important topics such as:

• Staying Safe when walking

• Identifying hazards

• Crossing the road

• The Green Cross Code

You will receive a Road Safety Resource Pack with lesson plans and pupil worksheets to be used before, during and after your visit, when you make your booking. To make a booking, or talk to one of our advisors call 0870 400 3090.

In addition to the events and activities around the Park, a road safety experience has arrived at Alton Towers with a specially designed resource pack.

The Peugeot Driving School promotes a safer lifestyle by helping children to understand how to behave responsibly on the roads. It's a great way for children to learn about road safety while having fun at the same time.

The Driving School is open throughout the season but we will also be offering talks specifically covering pedestrian safety; how to cross the road safely; the basics of The Highway Code and the identification of dangers relating to different environments and conditions such as darkness and weather.

Key Stage 3 & 4 

Business of Leisure provides an insight into the working of a successful leisure business and is ideal for students using the attraction as a case study. This engaging Event taking place 29th September to 3rd October 2008, will include a series of interactive presentations delivered by key members of Alton Towers Resort staff on a range of subjects such as Marketing, Customer Service, Promotions and PR, Investigating Leisure and Tourism and Alton Towers Resort as a business.

You will receive a Business of Leisure CD- ROM, containing worksheets that complement the areas of the presentation and key learning, post visit. To book a place at this Event, please call 0870 400 3090
