What is Alton Towers Early Ride Time?

What is Alton Towers Early Ride Time?

Early Ride Time (ERT) is your chance to explore the UK’s biggest theme park ahead of the crowds.

Whilst the main theme park gates open from 10am, hotel guests and Merlin Annual Pass holders can climb aboard select rides from 9.30am.

Experience some of our most popular rides ahead of the park opening. With shorter queue times, you can start your day with unencumbered thrills!

Rides Available for Early Access

The rides and attractions available for early entry include a range of major rollercoasters and children’s theme park rides. Whilst the ERT line up may change throughout the season, we aim to offer something for everyone!

The Early Ride Time line up currently includes:

Mutiny Bay:

Wicker Man

CBeebies Land:

Get Set Go Treetop Adventure

Go Jetters Vroomster Zoom Ride

In the Night Garden Magical Boat Ride

Justin's House Pie-O-Matic Factory

Numtums Number-go-round

Octonauts Rollercoaster Adventure

Postman Pat Parcel Post

If your favourite ride is not included in the Early Ride Time list, you can still be one of the first to ride. Reach the queue line the moment it opens by entering the park before the main gates open.

Access your favourite theme park rides

before the crowds arrive.

Who can enjoy Alton Towers Early Entry?

Early Ride Time is only available for guests who have booked theme park tickets with a short break accommodation package. Merlin Annual Passholders can also benefit from early entry to the theme park, even if they haven’t stayed overnight.

Jump aboard the Alton Towers monorail, which opens from 9am, to travel from the resort hotels to the theme park gates.

Book your theme park short break now to enjoy Early Ride Time!

Early Ride Time Exclusions

Early Ride Time is not available during Scarefest, Fireworks and other Special Events. Therefore, ERT will not take place after 4th October 2019.

The line-up of available rides and rollercoasters is subject to availability and can change throughout the season. Be sure to check this page before your visit, to find out which attractions will be open from 9.30am.

Where can I find out about Alton Towers ride times?
