With over 50 rides and attractions, the Alton Towers Resort is the UK’s Number One theme park - home to an awesome choice of world first rollercoasters that cannot be experienced anywhere else on the planet! Enjoy G-forces greater than a space shuttle on the legendary Nemesis, brave Oblivion’s iconic vertical drop, fly through space on Galactica, a fully integrated virtual reality rollercoaster, ride The Smiler’s 14 loops or satisfy your need for speed on Rita – hold on tight!

For our younger guests CBeebies Land is a wonderful place for children to explore, learn, play and inspire their imaginations. There is a whole host of CBeebies favourites; join Phoebe, Funella, Furgus, Elmo and Cookie Monster at The Furchester Hotel Live Show, or take the controls in a Vroomster on the Go Jetters Vroomster Zoom ride where you can help to find Grandmaster Glitch!  Plus Postman Pat Parcel Post, Mr. Bloom’s Allotment, Justin’s House Pie-O-Matic Factory and the In the Night Garden Magical Boat Ride.  The land also has some of CBeebies’ most popular characters to meet and say hello to.

First opened as a theme park in 1980, Alton Towers has delivered over 1 billion rides to thrill-seeking guests throughout its 37 year history. Whilst our passion is putting smiles on people’s faces, health and safety is paramount and our number one priority is the wellbeing of all our guests and employees. Alton Towers Heritage

Alton Towers has been contributing to the well-being of the local community for hundreds of years, through our Local Community Charter, Charity Requests and Merlin's Magic Wand.  Not many people know but throughout 2014 – 2018 over £1.2 million will be invested in Alton Towers history and heritage.  We are extremely proud of our ongoing heritage program to keep our Grade II listed towers and Grade I listed gardens looking stunning for all our guests to experience.  Plus, we love discovering and uncovering the mysteries, myths and legends of the Alton Towers estate from the last 200 years.

Expertise

Alton Towers Resort has an extensive team of engineers who keep our rides and attractions running safely. They are highly trained in all mechanical and electrical ride systems.

Did you know...

- Alton Towers continues to work with ride manufacturers throughout a ride's life cycle.

- All of our rollercoasters are controlled by sophisticated systems that monitor the safe operation of rides at all times.

- These systems will automatically shut a ride down if any inconsistencies are detected. Anything from rain water to leaves can obstruct the sensors and cause a ride to stop.

- All of our rides must pass regular inspections by independent, third party experts.
